New gangs/characters for GoMC1

Don't write it off mongoose! I'd like to see new gangs, and Charecters from the comics. It'd also be cool if they did some more sceanrios

I think there is new material in signs and portents, but I think this game is on hold for the moment. Might be more for it, rumour has it, with the new dread movie comes out. I think the RPG of Judge Dredd is being put onto the upcoming spacequest system (sci fi version of runequest).

It doesent look likely outside of signs and portents I'm afriad, but I hope they do some resculpts. It is kind of dead though...

I know... its just if they put some effort into it it could be amazing because it has great potential

There is no doubt that it has great potential, but stuff needs to be considered.

The relaunch, new rules, playtesting, models.

The most important thing here, I think, are man hours in playtesting that are needed in other things right now, such as the evolution lines, lone wolf & conan new editions, and runequest.

Also, the game has gone so long without support that retailers probably would not stock it again, unless it was a 'new' game on say a SST scale, due to the fact is probably had low sales towards the end.

Sad, cos it is a great game. Just never got the chance to show it...

Don't take that literally, but seriously, when I first joined up (just before my first Dreddcon aww) the Gangs players were really into it, having lots of fun with DOTS, but alas, it was not to be.

Seriously, you can try and try again but it will amount to naught but a waste of time.

It seems to be the nature of a campaign based gae: inevitable demise. Some games that are just game driven, with league and tournament potential just work: Warmachine, warhammer, confrontation, Starship troopers, etc..

I think the problem is: Gangs is a great game...just not for Nerds. (Where I say Nerds please read Average Joe Gamers [If that makes you feel better]) Most gamers seem to want to be the 10th level Barbarian or whatever and the framework for Gangs really dosen't allow for that.. The game is all about killing your opponents O.K. models before they get good and being forced to use crappy guys where you would have liked to use good ones. I've just started playing Hordes recently, I've only played 2 games but I can already see that it's all about Mega-Gaming...and it is also Hugely popular with most of the wargaming crowd around here. Gangs, like 2000ad. is for discerning geeks and freeks...I hope it dosen't get too popular as right now it seems very balanced and there is lots of material to use.

All this aside...I'd love some more figs.

Also, if everyone is waiting until the movie to do anything we (The Fans) will be waiting for a looooooooooooong time yet...
