Navwar Battle of the Denmark Strait

Here are the Navwar models for Prinz Eugen, Bismarck, HMS Hood and HMS PoW.

I've tried to get fairly close up photos of them to show the sort of detail that you get on the larger Navwar ships.

Being picky I know, but Bismarck had lost her black and white stripes by the time she sortied out in to the North Atlantic (they were common in the Baltic). Also, when she was sunk her turret tops were painted yellow (makes for an interesting model!)

Personally, I'll be giving mine stripes and Swastika (and maybe yellow turrets) - at this scale, the point is identification, rather than authenticity. Besides, I'll be playing Bismark throughout her (possibly extended if the campaign allows) life with the same mini.

Now that shows no dedication - you should have one in her Baltic scheme with the stripes and another in her North Atlantic scheme with the stripes dirtily painted out and yellow tops :)

Last time I looked I had 4 Bismarck models (two in 1/3000 as above, plus one in 1/1200 in the "Baltic" scheme and the latest in 1/600 as she was when she was sunk.

Not that I'm obsessive of course :)

Well, all my Destroyers of any one type will be in different camo schemes. does that count?

Yes I looked into the links that you provided and a lot of other ones besides, there appears to be a lot of debate over how she was painted for her final mission.

In the end I decided to leave off the Swastika's (and the band painting them over, too small I thought) but stick with the stripes. Something more representative of how she was then exactly how she was at the end.

That said I am very tempted to buy another one and give it another shot....
