Naval Warfare: Missing Section(s)?

Thanks for the addition of all the Naval Information in A&E. The information is fantastic. Some info that seems to be missing:

Crew Scale vs. Character Scale Combat
While I understand the ship stats, the weapons, and damage, it seems there is a missing section on how to handle a combat round. The cannon loading chart mentions "Character Scale" combat and "Crew Scale" combat, but I don't see this explained anywhere.

Character scale I think I understand. Crew Scale? I imagine it's to help mitigate things like having to bookkeep characters having to reload a weapon for 15 CAs. How does it work?

Gunnery Skill Explanation
Does this open at DEX*2 like other ranged attacks or something like DEX + INT? Does it require specialization for the different types of ship's weapons?

Weapon Damage Info
Only the cannon seems to have full info. What are the damages, ranges, etc. for the Siege Arbalest, Ballista, and Springal?

Offensive/Defensive Ship Handling
I assume opposed ship handling rolls are made for a ramming maneuver to see if it succeeds? Can ship handling be used to try to avoid siege weapons? Being boarded? GMs discretion on all?

Also, under Careening, it mentions a "Handiwork" check. Should that be Engineering?

Thanks for any clarification. I look forward to running some naval battles.

Are there really no answers for these? Am I just being a moron and missing something? I'd be happy for any A&E owners to point out what I'm missing. I don't mind feeling stupid.

No, you are not being stupid. I can't find the non-gunpowder artillery table either.

It looks like sections of 'Pirates' were incorporated—sorry, pasted in—but the resultant "soup" was not re-tasted to see if it worked.

'Arms & Equipment' is sadly suffering from déjà vu, rather like Spirit Magic in 'Cults of Glorantha II".

It's a shame to include all that Naval stuff and then not have an explanation of a workable combat mechanic. I was working on a BRP starship combat system. Maybe I'll modify that for water ships and post as an alternative.
