Narn Pattern Hep\Ideas

Any advice on tainting Narn pattern on ships. I'm new to it

Using Citadel colours, I did it the following way:

Black undercoat. Then a covering of red gore, leaving random triangular omissions in the paint to start the pattern. Then you take bleached bone and a fine tipped brush and line those triangular areas on the edge of the black areas you've left blank. Now you go back over the red gore areas in blood red. Metal bits you do in boltgun and can highlight with chainmail if you want to bring them up a bit more. The green band was done using catachan green, but I see blue used by many.

I never did any progress shots, but it should end up something like:

The other way to try it would be to paint the hull red, then add in the patterns you want in white and fill them in with black, leaving a thin white line.
