My buddy's Royal Navy fleet by GHQ is looking real nice. They're VERY detailed models. He's starting a second fleet (German) using Panzerschiff (sp?) resin models...not as detailed, but decent representations and very affordable.
Your flee looks very good, the images remind me of the aerial reconnisance photos you find on the internet...!

Maybe I'm just spoiled, but I really do think you have to get up pretty early to find better-looking models than the GHQ minis. The amount of detail they get on those tiny little hulls is awesome.

you can GHQs website for pricing. all those models are still in production AFAIK. they run about 15 bux for the bigger battleships and around 10 or so for the cruisers. smaller ships come in bundles and are cheaper. i think the 5 u boats were like 5 bux.
paints were a tamiya spray, tamiya deck tan with citadel/GW brown inkwash. highlights, airplanes, and everything else is all a mix of vallejo german grey, citadel/GW lightning blue, and whatever other vallejo grays i had laying around. the deck blue on the US ships is actually bluer, it just didn't come out that way in the photo.
also, the IJN carriers were tricky. i scoured the internet trying to find color photos of the flattop decks of jap carriers and it's impossible to find 2 pics showing the same thing. even the models are different.
i'm pleased with the way everything turned out.
