My book sale find

Went to the used book sale at our local library today and found a 1986 copy of the technical manual that apparently served as a basis for SFB and this version of ACtA. Lots of line drawings and mimeographed block text but I can see why people would've been excited about this book back in the day. I probably would've been too. It is sad that time has passed this volume by and the universe expanded and grew and this didn't grow with it, it could've been a valuable resource. As a total hopeless nerd, though, I was glad to find this book and add it to my many reference books.

Also recently picked up an old set of deck plans for the Constitution-class and a Klingon ship. Kinda cool.

I used to have a copy of that book that I bought back in the "dark days" of Star Trek (after TOS was cancelled, but before the movies and TNG series started). Its a facinating book for anyone who is a fan of TOS or Star Trek in general.

I know it's not directly SFU-related, but there's a similar tech manual-style book coming out for a Klingon Bird-of-Prey from the movies and later shows either this month or next, which seems to be generating a lot of interest. Maybe it'll spark a new wave of books like that.
