MWWG Novel

For my New Years resolution, I thought I'd like to attempt to write a novel, and was wondering whether there would be any chance of publishing one set in the Macho Women with Guns world?

Maybe at least I'll be able to get some good MWWG scenarios out of the exercise. I have some ideas that have just been battling with everything else in my life for time to get down on paper.

Maybe I can get a short story published in Signs and Portents, as a proof of concept.

How about if I put a guy named David in Isreal, who happened to be able to survive the great Plague, surrounds himself with an army of babes, and declares himself King David II?

Could work.

He'd need to be special in some way; in the official MWWG canon, men, while precious, are mostly sex-toys for the busty, warrior amazons.

You say that like it is a bad thing!

Utgardloki, perhaps you you try a short story on this forums OGL Fanfic section. Of course, with MWWG, you'd have to be careful you don't exceed the limits of taste and decency.

Life as a sex-toy for gorgeous, scantily-clad warrior women would only be bad if you had ambitions to become the next King David. I personally, would be interested in trying it out for awhile 8). Even if Utgardi can't publish his novel, we should all get together for MWWG online live chat roleplaying. I have ideas for post-apocalyptic, and modern scenarios chock-full of bra-busting femme-fatales.

Well then, I suggest you get some MWWG short stories ready to go, yourself.

I would like to see an MWWG novel on the bookshelves of every bookstore I go to. Or even just one book store. They have novels for lots of other games, why not MWWG?

Two reasons I can think of.
1) MWWG is, sadly, not as well known as other games systems.
2) if they did make MWWG books, they'd have to be placed out of the reach of minors!

Why would an MWWG novel have to be kept out of reach of minors? Do they want to keep teenagers  from getting any ideas about sex?

That's kind of like keeping George Bush from getting any ideas about invading countries. Not gonna happen.

I suppose there could be a series of MWWG novels and a series of MWWG X novels, for those who want MWWG erotica.

Myself, maybe I am too innocent for all that. As much as I enjoy erotica DVDs, I see MWWG as good clean fun. There may be jokes and innuendo, but I don't see it as a pornographic game.

Not that I haven't had players try to turn every role playing game into porn. But those were all teenagers. I don't know WHERE they got ideas about sex!

(Okay, many of my ideas about sex came from Wonder Woman comic books. )

I was thinking that the cover pictures would be 'unsuitable' for children. Well, they would be if done right :D !

Based on what I've seen on comic book, novel, and movie covers through the years, especially in the 21st Century, it's hard to imagine what I'd put on the cover of a MMWG novel that would make it not suitable for children.

Heck, you could even have a naked woman with a gun, as long as her strategic body parts were covered.

That's a good point. If it were done in the style of, for example, the Danger Girl comic art, it would probably be acceptable by most bookstores.
