MRQ1 Publishing Info Needed

Hey gang,


Needing a little help. The books listed below (all Mongoose RQ1) are ones that I have been unable to confirm hardcover releases for, only softcover. I've been slowly collecting the hardcover editions, so am very eager to figure out if any of these were only released as sofcover. I've been assuming that all of them started out as HC and were later reprinted as SC, but am starting to think that was in error, and some of them may have never seen a HC release. Any info or clarification is greatly appreciated.

8161 - RQ - Price of Honour
8129 - Glorantha - Dara Happa Stirs

8156 - Glorantha - Ducks: Guide to the Durulz

BTW, on a semi-related note, does anyone know if there are going to be any hardcover (or full-sized, for that matter) Legend printings? Personally, I thought the format of the MRQII books was the best, most beautiful choice ever, and was heartbroken to see the Legend revisions not following suit. Even worse, unless full-size editions eventually hit the press, I'll never be able to go near them (digest sized books strain my eyes).

Hi Kurgan.

The Elric Companion, Magic of the YK, Bright Shadows and Hawkmoon Granbretan were all originally available as Hardcovers.

I own all of the above in hard cover format, so you can regard this as confirmed.

The other Elric and Hawkmoon products you mention were only released in soft cover. I bought most of these products as they became available so I'm pretty certain about this. Cults of the YK was a delayed buy though, so I can't confirm whether it ever had a hard cover release.

I surprisingly like the new digest size books, they are great to read in bed or take to a gaming table, although they need to be covered with Contact to be made durable. The internal artwork is much better than MRQ2, and the black covers look cool.

I do agree that a large hardcover edition would be a welcome feature to any bookcase though, especially if it is produced as an omnibus edition including Legend Core Rules, Arms of Legend, and Monsters of Legend (perhaps even Empires of Legend if it gets produced). Nice black leatherette cover would suit me just fine.
