Mongoose
I'll be darned if I can decide for sure where to put this, so "General Discussion" seems like as good a place as any. Apologies in advance if there was a better spot for this post.

I think that the Mongoose boards need some restructure; more specifically I'd like to see some sub-forums rather than have all posts lumped together.

Some of the non-RPG games seem to have quite a few breakdowns of places to post things, but the RPG sections in general seem to be too generic. I have a couple in mind.

1. SST and Traveller. There is a large influx of Traveller posts and I think it needs its own forum (or sub-forum) soon. I think the number of Traveller posts may get big in a hurry, since this is such a popular game system and all. It just seems strange to have to go to the SST section to find Traveller posts.

2. Runequest. If RQ has different settings, why shouldn’t each setting have its own location for posts? Break this down into General RQ, Elric, Hawkmoon, Lankhmar, Pirates, and so on. (Heck, if you want to keep Elric/Hawkmoon as one section because they’re both Moorcock, go ahead.) As additional settings are published, put in some new areas.

I guess I feel kind of cheated because it gets harder and harder to find posts on individual settings. They get lost in the general traffic of the boards.

Just my two cents.

By the way, the whole reason why I bought RQ in the first place was because of the Lankhmar setting.

Now the RQ section is titled "RuneQuest/Hawkmoon/Elric" and Lankhmar isn't even listed. Not much incentive to hang out here anymore, if that's the kind of board support a product line rates.

Well the reason it is RuneQuest/Hawkmoon/Elric is that those are "complete games" since Hawkmoon and Elric contain the core RQ rules while settings like Lankhmar/Glorantha/Pirates do not.

I'm mixed on sub forums. The general board is getting very busy with all the games/settings - but often the posts contain matter that is applicable to multiple settings. I'd recommend new posts for setting specific topics be started with "[Lankhmar] Topic Subject" or some such until they create sub forums if they decide to go that way.

That being said, there has been very little board activity on the Lankhmar setting itself (though most have what has been posted is very positive).

You may already be aware of this but the author - Aaron Dembski-Bowden - board name here is "Dead Blue Clown". He no longer works for Mongoose but was a very active forum member when he did and still stops in from time to time - he would probably be happy to answer any questions you may have if you PM him on this board.

Either that or he'll hate me for inciting you to bother him.

Well, it's probably the old "chicken-egg" argument. Perhaps if all of the Lankhmar (or Elric or Hawkmoon or whatever) posts were together, posters would be more inclined to discuss a setting.

Probably. I may give it a shot, though. I don't have any specific questions at the moment, but was just hoping for more general Lankhmar chatter. Perhaps I can't find it because it's not there. The Lankhmar rules are perfect and there is nothing to question, thus no discussion about them.
