More Free Trader

I showed my wife the errata book discussion, and she suggested that I ask Traveller artists for donations to make the errata book look cool. Would you like to contribute an illustration (or a few) to the errata book, assuming you have an illustration that's a thematic fit for the text?

If yes, that thread is probably the right place to discuss it.

I can see what I assume are navigation lights. Green on the right, red on the left, as with current ships and aircraft.

However I think space ships need additional navigation lights because of orientation.

If one assumes the thruster plate glow shows which end is the back, we still can't tell if the ship is upside down, or reversing, and other cases I can't be bothered to enumerate.

edit: Flipped over to decelerate past midpoint of a trip seems like a common case.

I was just guessing where to put a green light on the thing. For all I know it means it's ok to dock on that side. Or was ok, up until the fire showed up.

Aircraft also use a white tail light (steady) and anti-collision strobes per standard international convention.

I suppose interstellar governments might require similar lighting.

One of the Star Trek movies had strobes on ships. Kind of cool.

In the future, I'm sure all ships will be self-driving. No one would be allowed to pilot anything.
