Mobile Infantry Fort

Hiromoon

Mongoose
Okay folks, from my weekend of getting pricked by the darn tape dispenser and a realization that I need a better pair of scissors comes this:

This little beauty is a motly collection of paper and cardboard, with the wall sections and now the roofs of my bunkers being made from paper glued to cardboard.

That's a closeup of one of my bunkers. I got the pattern from the Mongoose Publishing SST RPG map box that came with folding terrain pieces, which I photocopied. The roof is basically a bunker floor.

Looking sharp there Hiro!
I think I ended up dumping my cardboard bunker thinking it was kinda useless, but that forts changed my mind :D

Thanks Max. I plan on scanning the bits onto the computer, then editing them with photoshop so I can make taller walls.

Good point Makoto.

Also, you'll note a small landing pad inside the fort, and a container or two. The Containers are from AT-43 (come on, $15 for two containers and six low wall sections? better than six figures for $32)

Woah, is that all they cost?
:D Awesome those were the only bits in the box I really wanted and thats cheaper than the various resin alternatives!
Hmmm... If I can get them from the US to avoid the inevitable UK doubling in price without customs opening them this end forcing me to pay the postage again (God its great living over here... ) I'll have to snap them up!

Ugh, but then I'd have to go to france :D
Yeah definatly worth it though, maybe I could stick an order in next time someone I know does a booze run lol

Yep! So now I can use the containers as Ammo Dumps or structures... makes the forts just that much more believable.

Max, you could order them online from a european retailer couldn't you,
I think you don't have to pay customs for stuff bought from EU-countries at all,, works that way for me atleast, (sweden) whilst buying from the US gets me slapped with extra taxes and crap :'(

looks good Hiro:)

Looks good Hiro! Just can't stay away from printer stuff can you  ?

Hey col_stone, I live on the border and I still get extra taxes, such as one in which I am basically paying someone to dig through my stuff  , cheap evil UPS group  .

As a lucky one who got to see this fort up close I am really impressed. 8)

It's very sturdy and quite frankly looks great when put together.

I'm not big fan of "paper terrain" really but Hiro's fort takes it too another level which appeals to me. With the AT-43 terrain it really is something you want to fight over on the tabletop.

We're playing at Eagle and Empire on February 23 and Hiro and I plan on fielding our Light MI in that structure. Or at least some of the "Human Horde" that can fit within it.

Of course, if you're in the area and can play that day or just want to watch, stop on by! :D

Heck Elvis, you could get your kids to make this stort of terrain for you! All you need is colored photocopies, cardboard backing, Elmers glue, safty scissors, and tape!

Heh.... I might end up making a few other things out of the paper/cardboard hyrbids. For the moment, though, I'm pretty happy with my handiwork there.
