Missions and Scenairos

Larac

Mongoose
With being snowed in 18" and still snowing, I was thinking, never a good thing.

What type of Missions are right for the game.

Perhaps we can use this thread to list ideas and then to later post more fleshed out missions.

Some quick ones came to mind.

Protect the Convoy
A simple get the Trucks from one side to the other.

Secure / Blow a bridge
Get to the site and destroy or hold a bridge.

Cover the Mind Clearing Team
Keep the team alive as they make a path through a mine field.

Rescue ejected pilot

Get to and help a pinned squad

Get an informant whose cover is blown out

40k had a variant called Kill Team which had some great ideas.

A small force 1-2 squads mostly tried to sneak in, do the mission (plant bomb, get data, rescue), and then get out.

The defender had more forces, but spread out, and most were on auto, until an alarm was sounded or they could percive the attackers.

It was a Dirty Dozen feel to it, I can see such missions working well in Evo.

Not great for Tourny play, but shoould be a fun game to play.

List your ideas as well, then we can start fleshing out stuff, I think it would be nice to have 10-15 missions somewhat hammered out before the figs hit, that way you can show off more than just Kill 75% to win games.

We can test these out to get Objectives to work well and have some great stuff ready day one.

Here is an idea, not fully fleshed out yet, but a start.

Mission PATROL

Agree to a Point Total to use, Force A should have 10% more than Force B.

So in a 500 point game, Force A would have 550 and Force B 500, this is to offset that Force B knows where Force A intends to go.

Setup

Based on a 4x6 foot table.

Place terrain in whatever may you find works.

Force A the Patrolling Force picks a long edge side to enter from.

Then divide the table into 6 areas,

Each about 2feet square, Take turns placing a Patrol Marker in each area,
with Force B the Defender placing first, Force A's Setup Area, must be placed at least 6"from the edge, in other words Force A can not setup on a marker.

All Patrol Markers should be on ground level and not inside any building.

Force B, the Defending Force, Will Setup first.

Setup area is 18" from Force A Side, and covers most of the board.

Force B may choose one squad to be in a Ready State at this time.

No Models maybe within 4" of a Patrol Marker.

Then Force A then will Setup up to 6" in on its side.

Force A will go first.

Objectives:

Force A will attempt to move a model to each Patrol Marker, there is no order that has to be followed.

Once within 2" of the Patrol Marker, any Infantry Model can use a Ready Action to search for the cache, after this action is completed the Patrol Marker is removed and awarded to Force A.

Force B will attempt to stop this from occurring.

Game Ends when one Force is wiped out, all Patrol Markers have been touched, or players call it.

Briefing:

Force A, Patrolling

Intel has reason to believe these locations may be some sort of cache.

Patrol each area marked on the map. If supplies are located, destroy it.

Force B, Defender

Scouts have placed lockers underground through the area to use as supply cashes, so far none have been filled, but they seem to have attracted another forces units.

Destroy the intruders.

Still some wording and things to work out but that is the rough draft.
