Miniatures

The duck miniatures are way cool. I've seen them on display at my local RPG-store. The only problem is that one rarely has need for such a large pack of duck miniatures. I'd happily buy pack with 1 - 3 of the figures, but at the moment I just don't have the need for such a large pack, so I can't justify the expense.

They are very nice, and metal, but sadly they are 28mm standard and I've still got heaps of old 25mm RQ figs from Citadel & Ral Partha so they are off scale.

While they seem expensive, to be honest production prices being what they are, that's pretty much what most people are charging these days, ie: £2-2.50 a figure. Hell wizards are charging about a quid a figure for mass-produced soft plastic figs in the Collectables range! Gone are the days of the 60p figure. I was flicking through my old citadel journals the other day and remembering how incensed I was when the raised their prices from 25p to 40p!

I've purchased the Ducks but haven't got round to painting them yet, they're not to bad bad figures, and size wise they're not too bad when put along side the old Citadel figs.

Felt a little bit confused by the packaging though- whopping great card board box with a comparitively tiny plastic bag full of figures rattling around inside it.
No foam protection, just empty space.... a bit weird.

The 10 Duck Figs are good though, all individuals, all set up with adventuring gear.

Yes, what is it with the packaging? Putting a small plastic bag in a large card board box would be like putting a 96 page slim book in heavyweight hardback covers......

And if the box is somehow "necessary" to make the figures attractive to more retailers, then some sort of adding padding should have been included to protect the figures...

Did anyone ever receive the Broo pack. I pre-ordered it along with the ducks but its never arrived?
The ducks are fine if a little off scale with my older citadel minis, but I loved the variety of them and they've seen action aplenty. Duck tower rules.
