Mech combat game that i just thought of.

Mongoose
I just had this idea of a mech combat game, wich includes infentry also.
See the strory is that in 2256 A.D the earth is starting to run out of resorses( Oil, land, ex.) So the U.N desided to send exsploration teams to mars to set up terra forming machins. ( the machens send out CO2 to renfors the atmosepher for plants to produe O2) A chines exsploration team discovers a werd rock formachin and disides to cheak it out. Here they discoverd that it is a derilict ship containing a powerful enrgy substins wich is abondent on mars. They also discoverd bipedel walkers wich they reversd engenered to use as a better exsplorachion vehacal. The U.N was greatful for this enrgy sourc wich the now use to power the world. But the chines government said it was there discovery of these things and thought they should ceap it for themselves. When they saw that other govnments were seting up mines on mars the chine sent solders and reconfigered walkers to take over the mines.Soon the U.n disided that they should creat walkers of there own to protect the mines. So scientist revers enginered the walkers into fighting machins called Armo suits ( or AS). So now there is a war for control of the mines.

Thats all i can come up with right now for back story. Now for game wise im hoping it will use eather evo or sst V2 rules. For mines size the infentry is 15mm as for mecks i cant seam to convert Feet to mm. So can some one help? The mecks in feet are about 12/14 feet high. Thanks Ill have more ideas soon.

Whats heavy gear? And no not on earth, it takes place on mars. But i am thinking it could take place on other planets.

That said though a less complicated battle game using more models but with mechs on the same scale as 40k and starship troopers, but you could have tanks, air units and emplacements smaller than the mechs, which would have more of a gundam look and weapons to boot.

What do you mean for the size of the mechs?

Say you have the mechs about the size (in miniatures terms) of exosuits or slightly small. Then you could have stands of smaller ones, fighters, larger aircraft or space craft, tanks, and maybe the odd straship or two or mobile artillery base. A game where all the support is smaller than the actualy troops. That and mech scale squad combat would be good. The mechs would be meaty but not on the same scale as battletech with all those hits nor the complexity of the heavy gear game, with various missiles, lasers, munitiions guns, and melee specialist mechs.

So you mean like Mech Warrior the click base game then ??

Also have you tried Dirtside 2

Not on the clix bases, but as an assemble them, squad based game, with few superbig and smaller mechs, but something along the lines of certain units in mechwarrior dark age. However I have not heard of the other game.

Basicly in real life the mechs re 12 foot tall huminoid shaped. Like the hevy gear mechs wich Im still mad that there is already a game out there. I downloded the demo game and cant figer out the rules.

Dirtside II is available at no cost as a PDF from Ground Zero Games.

It can do much of what you're looking for.

Stargrunt II is a man-scale.

PM Me with what you can't figure out.

Yes Dirtside II is the one you need (and FREE), Stargrunt is the skirmish man to man version, which I dont think is a free download as yet.

But if you also want starship combat the Full thrust rules (plus More thrust and fleet books) are also FREE on the GZG website AKAramis posted
