MEA and other Middle East and African forces.

I was wondering, if M.P. has any troops in the works that will be bareheaded? Many forces do not wear the head cloth shown on the MEA troops. Doing bareheaded troops or troops with soft hats would be great, that way many different types of troops could be depicted.

I'm not a fan of the next wave MEA sculpts. I plan on picking up the EVO book when it comes out, but I'm not sure about the troops.

I'm with you, Old Soldier. The problem is that the MEA is supposed to be, well, an alliance (however loose and shaky) of member states from Egypt to Pakistan or so, and most things in between.

Contrary to popular western perception, this is an incredible gradient of cultures and ways of life, not to mention of ethnic groups and regional powers with complex and often bloody histories of inter-relations.

Of course, collusion wouldn't be impossible, especially if they all felt the rest of the world was ganging up on them - The problem is that you have, say, the Militia and Fedayeen standing in for a continent or two's worth of grassroots armies. I mean, can you imagine every member of the EFTF going around with spiked helmets, for example?

That said, there's only so many different figures the Mongeese can feasibly produce, so it's no black mark against them that they had to settle on a compromise. Still, I'm curious to see how these Government Troops pan out, both as models and on the tabletop.

It has been confirmed that regular government troops will be available representing countries in the MEA with more modern army structure and tactics.

The current MEA represents those irregular forces seen in insurgencies and such. However it's important to realize the the current MEA are all trained troops, at least until the angry mob comes out.
