OK I've got some questions about the mass combat statistics given in the Pirate Isles book. These relate to the mass combat rules that Mongoose provide here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/conanmasscombat.pdf
Firstly the rules state that the minimum size of a unit is 10 creatures. However certain units have less than that in the book. For example Militia & Local Watches have 8 while the Marines have 5. Is there a reason for that?
Also I can't see how they worked out the counter hit points for the Zingaran Free Booters, they seem to have them too low.
Apparently it should be calculated as:
(Avg Hit Dice * Creatures per Counter) +/- 10% Per Con Mod + DR
Therefore Zingaran Marines work out as:
(3 * 5) + 10% + 6 = 22, the book gives 24, close but no cigar.
Zingaran Freebooters:
(2 * 10) + 0% + 5 = 25
The book however gives 14.
I'm not too much of a rules lawyer so I'm not too fussed with what's going on but 14 does just stick out as being way too low.
I'm probably going to double the marine unit size up to 10 (making the counter HP 42 so the Freebooters really do need a bit of a boost.
Any idea if I've got the wrong end of the stick or if it's a miss-print?

Just noticed that in theory Zingaran marines should have a Con of 10 not 12. Therefore by the rules they should have:
(3 * 5) + 0% + 6 = 21
