Martial Arts

I was thinking of adding Martial Arts as a Advanced Skill to my list of skill for Pulp Legend. Does the skill already exist in Deus Vult? I seem to recall there being some Legendary abilities based around unarmed combat.

I think in previous editions of Runequest or possibly Call of Cthulhu the skill simply doubled your unarmed combat damage from a 1D3 to a 2D3. What do folks think about a 1D6 instead? Finally should this be a Advanced Skill or a Combat Style? This is what I'm thinking thus far for the skill.

Martial Arts - STR+DEX - Advanced Skill or Combat Style
You may use this skill in place of your Unarmed skill. Your base damage is a D6 rather than a D3. This training could represent one of many styles from Shaolin Kung Fu to Boxing.

In CoC the Martial Arts skill is one of the combined skills.
Effectively you roll your Unarmed attack and if the roll is also below your Martial Arts skill you do double damage before adding your damage bonus modifier ie. Unarmed is 50% and Martial Arts is 35% so if your roll is between 36 and 50 you do D3+DB and if it's below that D3 + 1d2 DB becomes 2d3 +1D2 DB

I think I prefer it being a separate skill/ combat style vs a combined skill. Thank you for the clarification, I couldn't remember which game I saw that skill.
