Lore and POW questions

In the Runequest Core rulebook Lore (Specific Theology) is defined in two different ways.

On page 46 INT+POW, on p116 INTx2.

Which one is correct?

Cults of Glorantha p211 Some Gifts seem to call for additional POW to be spent on the gift. Is this correct or is this POW the dedicated POW?

The extra POW spent is dedicated POW. I just use the regular (p.46) Lore skill for theology as the stats used make more sense to me. It also makes it simple and gives me one less thing to remember.

I may be incorrect, but it works for me. :)

Good question. My character spreadsheet has it as INTx2, which also agrees with Edric the Restless's character sheet on P.28. I think I would prefer it to be INT+POW though, theology should involve more intuition and divine connection than a "pure" lore. Especially as POW doesn't figure into Pact at all, it should have some bearing on Divine magical ability.

Isn't Pact Dedicated Pow + Cha ?

I'd probably prefer it on Pow + Int as well, as long as you don't get a lower score in it by dedicating more Pow to your pact.

Ah ok, I don't have so much experience with divine spells. But couldn't you quite easily start as an acolyte, having half your Pow dedicated? Which would mean at least half your Pow would be important.

It should be INT x2.

However, if you prefer INT+POW then that's reasonable. Dedicating to a pact has no effect on calculating your skills; treat your POW is full strength no matter how much you might dedicate.
