Lone Wolf 16 and Darklands have both arrived together and will be shipping this week! Please bear with us, as we have a lot of pre-orders for these two, so it will take us 2-3 days to work through them, but you'll be seeing your books very soon now!

Good news indeed.

Soooo.... About book 17? ;-D

Well, actually...

Book 17 is undergoing layout and a few last checks - then it is off to Mr Dever for approval, then print (hopefully within the next couple of weeks!).

And work on Book 18 started a while ago...

@BlackCat: Book 29! Mmmmm... [Drool]
Actually, I'm missing 23, 25, 27 and 28 anyway, I won't be reading 29 even when it arrives. I've waited this long, I can manage a few years more. I never expected to be able to fill in the gaps, let alone get 29-32 so patience is on my side.

@MSprange: Excellent news about 17 & 18 ! Cheers!

Mark.

hi!
I prefer to read all the LW books chronologically, even though I have the collection right up to book 28. So I love to get my hands on book 29 but want to read at least 21-28 first (28 was edited down to 300 sections so be good to have the unabridged version available :0 )

Very excited to hear this news!! Glad to hear you have many pre-orders lined up!! It's worth the little extra time it takes the novel to arrive knowing that it's being purchased by a lot of people! Go Lone Wolf!

Got both books today, cool!

Did I miss the discussion already where people have said the riddle in 189 has changed? It has - subtly in the first paragraph (from what I can see)

Presumably the riddle has the missing bit of information so it works now? :)

WHo is the mini game hero - Alyss?

Is paragraph 143 still the same? (the one that kills you instantly 30 - 40% of the time)

...and lastly can you take all 10 special items from pre-book 13 with you? (the old editions only had 8 items)

189. Yes, in a way. Reworded that 2 Dwellers of the Abyss. Loyal Servants are same in number as months in a Magnamund year less number of Dwellers in the Abyss. So rest of riddle isn't necessary but helps to confuse I suppose.
Errata - picture at 327 is Alyss but description implies Shamath, Shamath illustration at 261 quite different.

Slight change - Kai-alchemy, Kai-screen or Assimilance +2 bonuses are cumulative!

Yes all 10. You can take the Silver Bracers and Korlinium Scabbard along with, um a "Silver Helm of Duadon" Just realized Silver Helm not a new errata.

Got my book yesterday!! Would have posted sooner, but huge power-outage(12 hours or so) made it not possible for me to get on the internet! Looks great!

Wow! GREAT work mongoose (and Dever). That means that in most cases a veteran character should always survive that paragraph (assuming optimal discipline choices). No more 40% instant death.

And the riddle change is great as well.

Now just fingers crossed the difficulty is REALLY sorted in book 17 :) :) You can do it mongoose!

Darklands looks like another awesome addition to the LWMRPG line. Really awesome.

I think it would also make for a great purchase for any Lone Wolf fans, not just RPers, as its packed with setting information as would its 'sister' volume Sommerlund.

Any chance of getting a preview PDF of its contents? I have the d20 version, and don't want to buy this if nothing new has been added.

We'll sort a preview out, but I can tell you that Mr Dever extensively reworked the content from the original book...

That he did. Joe Dever and I gladly worked on this one to make sure it was as good a book as it could possibly be. That said, great credit should be given to Vincent Lazarri for his fantastic efforts on this one well. I can assure you it's worth a new purchase even if (or especially because) you have the d20 version.

There's a lot of new material, several (more than I'd care to admit, :) ) mistakes from the first book are corrected and everything's in a great format.

Enjoy!

Wow, thank you for the compliment August!

Indeed, Zager Krahl, we (and Floribur must not be forgotten in this process of review, he did a great job!) tried to improve again the consistency between that book and the entire Magnamund universe, and to complete the few points that were not addressed in the first version, under the supervisory control of Joe Dever. Concretely:

- some provinces that were present in the original book were reworked to fit more with the gamebooks (like the swampy Fethmyre, that became the volcanic province of Northern Skaror to fit with the text of LW25) and new provinces were added (like Ghargon, Zutzinozaga the province of Mozgôar or Jegdazok the northern province encompassing the islands of Dejkaata), as well as more complete descriptions of Darklords fortress-cities like Gazad Helkona, Gournen or Kaag; all these changes were made on behalf of Joe Dever, who revealed us which were the missing provinces, and provided many new descriptive details for all the provinces.

- Helgedad has been modified to be organized around the Imperial Sector described in LW12 and the sectors of the 7 Lords of Helgedad, and new buildings were added like the Temple of the Pentad, with new exciting details and descriptions provided by Joe Dever.

- new creatures of the Darklands were added in the bestiary of The Darklands (some of them created by August himself in the bonus adventures published in the LW gamebooks, like the terrible Terrorgaunt, and others from the gamebooks that were missing both in Magnamund Bestiary and in the first Darklands, like the Ziran, Imperial Guard, Gnagusk, Korozon, Skryza...)

- the Darklords' biographies (with their full-power stats for the LWMPBG) have been supplemented with new exciting details provided by Joe Dever. Vashna's bio has been added too.

- Graphically, you'll enjoy to find the banners of all the Darklords nicely drawn by Jidus, an extremely precise map showing all the provinces and settlements of the Darklands (including even the small fortresses!) drawn by Floribur, and a nice new map of Helgedad drawn by Gill Pearce that completely fits with the new description of the city !

To conclude, I would like to say that August remains the first and main author of that book that was already a great one (his cunning explanation of the powers of the Nengud-Kor-Adez made me definitively change my view of the Darklands, long years ago, thank you for that, August!!), and that Floribur, Jidus, Gill and I were enthusiastic contributors who added supplementary material to his work, surpervised and guided by Joe Dever himself who solved the little incoherences to be addressed. Zager, I hope you'll like it :).
