Lets talk skin dancing....

Skin Dancing, one of the coolest things that White Stars can do. I, however, have a question or two about it.

1. Does the attack happen right away when you get into base contact with the enemy? Like what if the targeted ship hasnt moved yet? Does he get to move out of the skin dancing, or does the skin dancing ship move with him when he moves?

2. Does Skin Dancing count as a special action? Or can you do a special action and skin dance on the same turn? Like an All Stop and then skin dance.

Thanks in advance!!

1) The White Stars attacks happens as normal in the Attack Phase. So the ship being skin-danced upon would get a chance to move away from the White Star if it hasn't already moved that turn.

2) There is nothing that says Skin Dancing is a Special Action. However, as the manoeuvre calls for a Crew Quality check, I would rule that a Skin Dancing craft is unable to perform any 'other' Special Actions, or launch/recover Auxillary Craft, if the Skin Dancing is successful.

These questions came up in a game against the ISA the other night. My opponent was not happy when he tried to skin dance with 4 WS2's and 3 of them turned into pretty splotches on my ships hull and then i flew away from the survivor leaving him with 3 lost ships and no target  . But i think Silvereye's answers are probably right, as it works out the same as being bore sighted then moving away.
