Can Gloranthan grimoires be learned solo? Arcane Lore says that it takes a full HeroQuest-style ritual to propel the student onto the Sorcery Plane to contact the power node of the Grimoire, and makes dire warnings about the consequences of the ritual going wrong. It kind of squashes my idea for a character that has snuck access to a grimoire and studied it surreptitiously.
