Lasers on contemporary aircraft

I never thought I'd see the day when contemporary aircraft were equipped with laser weapons. It is getting closer, but it is not quite here yet.

It's power supply and not frying the components; the first candidates are more likely to be the Zumwalts, supercrarriers and amphibious carriers who have space and the energy.

A low-power laser has been tested on commercial aircraft for use as a simple anti-missile defense. Not enough to cause "damage" in a Traveller sense, but could be used as part of Point Defense.
