Larger versions of deck plans for LBB owners

I am currently looking at using the deck plan for "Planetoid Monitor" in the High Guard book in my campaign. I own the LBB2 edition of High Guard...

I am a huge fan of the LBB editions as they are a great help in cutting down on the clutter that seems to go along with most of the other RPG purchases I make... sure big hardcovers are nice but they really eat up space. I have not really had any problem with them outside of the deck plans section.

My problem (as you have no doubt guessed by now) is that I can't read the deck plan as it is too small. I understand this goes with the version of the book I have chosen to buy... but it would be really nice if they could be made available elsewhere as a pdf (without me having to buy the entire Book 2: High Guard as a pdf).

Is there any possiblity that these could be made available? Ideally free but I am aware that deck plans are probably a key selling point for these books so if not free then at least as a separate pdf of just the deck plans (without the associated tables and stats which I can read fine) for a nominal fee?

And before anyone pipes up with "get glasses" I have normal visual acuity.

As I understand it the issue with the deckplans stems from the file format not the end product. A larger version would be* just as unreadable, and a pdf of the same would only scale up the problem, not make it more useful. Folk have been asking for a fix for some time, and I seem to recall some of them have been fixed/improved. I don't recall where they were posted though, at least I seem to recall them being posted...

* is in fact, the deckplans in the full size HG being the same as I understand it

Not exactly, yes the bitmap file format is a problem but part of that is with rescaling it downwards for LBB2. The capital ship deckplans in Book 2: High Guard are a little more readable then those in LBB2: High Guard as they didn't have to scale them down even smaller. Yes, bitmaps don't scale nearly as well as vector images do but this isn't the only issue here.

The deckplans for the core rulebook where redone and are available as a PDF from the Traveller page on the Mongoose Publishing website. Don't know about any for the ships in High Guard though.

The resolution dependent (bitmap) format is rather a poor choice for many deckplans, but in the specific case of the "Planetoid Monitor", it is fairy legible in the large format version.

Perhaps PM your query to Matt - Mongoose is very good about satisfying its customers.

Many thanks to the fellow board member that PMed me and emailed me a better quality scan (yes it is a bitmap and it isn't perfect but it is better than what I had).

Still it would be nice if these plans could be posted elsewhere officially as pdfs for those of us that choose the LBB versions.
