Land of the Samurai

Mongoose
I own the Land of the Samurai book for RuneQuest and am wondering if there is a plan to put out an updated version soon for Legend? I thought I read something early on that there was a plan for this. This is the main book I'd love to have a copy of for Legend.

Samurai of Legend is on the schedule for 2012 and will be 100% open content!

This product is specifically mentioned in the State of the Mongoose Address for 2011 - it seems that Mongoose plan to release a range of OGL historical supplements. They are starting out with adaptations of existing MRQ books (Pirates, Vikings, and Samurai), but hopefully we will see some original books down the track - personally I'd love to see a Steampunk book for Legend!

Wild west would ROCK!

Agreed!

How about a Legend book covering Greece in the Heroic Age? Or a Legend conversion of the OGL Ancients book, covering the Ancient Egyptians, Phoenicians, Assyrians, et al?

What about a Celts of Legend book? Or a Musketeers of Legend book covering the age of swashbuckling adventure?

Wild west would be nice too :)

I think I love you.

By any chance you wouldn't happen to be pretty female who happens to be able to able to speak in japanese even as tertiary language?-)

More seriously personally I'm waiting for samurai's and(hopefully) wild west. Before those come I won't probably play much if any legends. I'm not that much into fantasy fantasy so if it is to be something to drag me away from scifi(and traveler in particular) then it has to be either samurai's or wild west gunslingers ;)

Didn't pay any attention to the whole "legends" thing until I happened to catch the word "samurai" in the state of mongoose! Then I went back and reread just what part I was reading over :D

Mixster has semi-long sorta-blond hair AND has studied Japanese at the university ;)

True dat.

Samurai of Legend would be pretty cool as well, but has been done a multitude of times, and I find some trouble on seeing why it's ever been such a hard conversion.

Now Wild west on the other hand. Showdowns at noon, catchy phrases, stealing cows. It's like an entire world meant for epic PCs.

Yeah it seems oddly underused setting as far as RPG's, being limited mainly to small indie RPG's mainly. Can't see why it's that rare. It's not like there's not bloody lot of possibilities for wild west rpg campaigns...

Seconded, thirded and fourthed! My favourite kind of setting!

I'm down with the cowboys too, especially the (Weird) Wild West, with Native American spirits, voodoo zombies, and dread monsters that turn out to be aliens (speaking of which, is Cowboys and Aliens any good?... never watched it).
