"Kill team"

SnowDog

Mongoose
Hi,

I'm glad to hear that Modern Combat is developing in good speed. Now, I'd like to know if there is a possibility for a "kill team" style game with a bit more detail and fewer figures? I know that was one of the ideas with Ubisoft but what about now?

Thanks in advance.

Immediatly, no - we are trying hard to squeeze as many rules and armies in at the moment (Russians!) as possible, leaving little time for a 'spec ops' type game. It is very likely we will return to that type of game, however.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick reply. I'm sad to hear that no spec ops game is in the horizon but after all there is still hope that we will see that kind of game later. Now the waiting game begins :)

Thanks again!

Just out of curiosity, why not go with a few armies to start with and save others for supplements?

We likely will, but we are wanting a healthy selection to start. As well as the 'traditional' USMC, British Army, PLA and MEA from the original BF Evo, we are looking to include the Russian Army and US Army - plus, all armies have a lot more units and options now.

So, not a huge number, but enough to take our attention away from other ways of playing the game, which really would require significant work.

Plus, by devoting Spec Ops to another supplement, we can also look at including WWII and SST (and other BF Evo variants) into the mix, rather than just focussing on Modern Combat - in effect, it will be a supplement for all games, not just one.

I guess that everyone have their favorite army/country and if that one is the one that got axed for later supplement there would be an outcry.

BTW are these armies (like Russians) for Modern Combat of WaW? If for latter, are there going to be small countries like Finland for example :)

Ah, I should have waited a while before writing my own response :)

So, EU forces are now limited to British forces? Is that correct? I don't mind since I have USMC force but I just want to get my hands on SAS so maybe I have to switch sides after all :P

Although I would like to play Spec Ops style game I can see the sense of thinking it through to be able to use the rules with all three games.

Now, it's getting a bit OT but what was the case with miniatures? Is Mongoose going to manufacture (unpainted) minis at all or are we left to find appropriate minis from third party manufacturers?

Thanks again!

Continuing the OT ;) I would think that there would be Black Hawks but then again I think that they will be part of Modern Combat and I understood that Mongoose will be relying on third party manufacturers for those models. So if we get the unit cards and can find the models somewhere then why not?
