K-9 = Canines?

I sat reading the SST rulebook the other day and found that K-9 almost sounds like canines when you say it, "Kee-nines."

Just a coincidence or intentional?

Kee-nines? most places i know pronounce K as Kay so you get Kay-nines or canine which is how it came about. now if K was pronounced Kee then the term K-9 never would have been coined cos Keenine sounds nothing like canine :)

Yeah is canine, Kay-Nine....

Someones got their English pronunciations a bit wrong  .

Unless you learnt it from a Geordie bloke.

It's an English thing, K-9 is used for canine in lots of situations (and sounds exactly the same) , it doesn't work in any other language though :)
I'd never thought about it before. Do you get DR Who? His dog is called
K-9 too. And the James Belushi film (although they probably changed that as itwouldn't have made sense).

GIR, Sweden is the final frontier, save for space and the poles.

Heck, I bet the astrounauts (spelling?) get more news than we do!

all swedes speak english aswell, i think kris said K9 instead of K-9, that would give more of the keenine sound(with a tint of swedish accent) instead of kaynine and make it less obvious...

feel free to correct me if i'm wrong tho, kristovich

You're probably right, it's what comes from not having english as your native tounge. But I did pass with MVG (higest score) in english.

And GIR, you'd still need minor artic survial traning if you plan on visiting the northern parts  Heck, there's even an Ice Hotel this time of year
