K’kree char-gen question

Greetings,
Since all K’Kree must choose warrior for their first term, I assume this means they gain all warrior skills at level 0?

And also, when they begin their caste-career and begin basic training in term 2, they choose one skill from the relevant career path and gain that at level 0?

And then roll normally from there (with the restriction that they can’t change specialization without leaving the active career first)?

Promotion, aside from a nicer title, only exists (game-wise) as a way to roll extra skills?

Looking at the tables [AoCS 1, pgs 131-9], I would say yes, they get Warrior Basic and then get one career skill at level 0 to start term 2. [although I would probably house-rule that as 'EDU modifier, minimum 1, skill at 0] And obviously, if it's a military herd you don't get Basic twice.
And yes, promotion does seem to carry with it a skill roll.

Interesting house-rule, might I inquire why? They already get a number of background skills, is it to ensure they always get a solid start in their career?
