Just Getting Started

Hello all,

Well I just bought the 2nd Ed ACtA B5 Space Combat book. I don't have no figs or anything, but I'm thinking about getting the revised ACtA space combat set, that has the maps and such. Now is that a good thing to get seeing as I dont' have maps or figs yet or should I just build my own?

You can pick up the first edition counter pack for about $15. It has a huge variety of ships.
It hasn't got the second editon ships but hopefully they'll be releasing a 2E version of the counters in the future.
The counter pack is the cheapest option and well worth your money. :)

Welcome to the madness! :D

The counter set is still worth its money; you might be able to get a revised box cheaper now that it´s obsolete - to be honest, I wouldn´t pay full price for it anymore with 2nd ed out...

Oh, and there are no maps in any box - but since you can play the ghame without any terrain if you want to (although, as usual, terrain improves the game a lot), you can play on any flat surface you like. You might want to get a piece of black cloth to simulate space, though.

Just try the search function to look for advise on how to create fast and stunning gaming tables for ACTA, there´s been quite a few threads and pictures about that so far.

ALynx, to help you get your ACTA terrain started in an inexpensive way check out the resource pages of my website. You'll find lots of planets, asteroids, etc. you can print out and then laminate.
