Judge Dredd - Tank query

Currently trying to stat up the Justice Department's K-3000 'McGruder' Tac-Wagon ( Judge Dredd Megazine #249 ) . I'm pondering over the monstrous array of tunbes/barrels fanning out from the back of the turret. They are at least 1.5m long, rather big for smoke dischargers.
Unless they are some weird compensation system for other weapons , or housings for complex sensor array , I'm toying with making them rocket housings.
Any other suggestions ?
 
Thanks. I agree it's the artist going OTT. I'm not even considering the horizontal row of what look like even more guns above the headlights !
