Jrusteli Quester's Pack

Thanks Phil, very nice idea. I like the 'lightened' equipment additions. :D

I presume the crayons are for the warriors types to doodle with when their not fighting?

Waterproof writing implements.

Having really tried writing with a quill on real vellum using oak gall ink on a rainy day, that would be an excellent idea!

For those who might question if crayons are a possibility they a could be made with a mix of wax, powdered colours and gum.

Crayons are a fairly recent invention, but the principle is very simple, and I think that an empire whose raison d'être is knowledge, all kinds of technology to do with transcribing and preserving information would be explored.

One of the drawbacks of the Grimoire system is that there are fewer opportunities for unusual, not-very-useful sorcery spells. For instance, in AHRQ I could easily introduce an NPC - or even a PC - who has Form/Set Wax and uses it to make crayons. But in MRQ, it needs to be in a Grimoire that belongs to an order, and there's no way a player is going to learn it because who's going to spend valuable IRs on a quirky thing like that?

I think the technology to make them would be fairly simple and many pigments are mineral based and would lend themselves to this use nicely.

For the literate barbarians out there who wanted one for their version of Phil's pack you could substitute a wax tablet and stylus.
