Is anyone working on the game?

animus

Mongoose
We have identified several ares of concern with ACTA 2e; shadow fighters, swarm fleets, FAP, initiative/boresights, and some ships. Unlike some, I don't think these problems are necessarily fatal but I think they could all be improved and fixed.

My question is "is there anyone at Mongoose actually working on addressing these?" I'm thinking of a 3e or maybe a book of some kind. I appreciate that the Gaim are being tweaked, but what about the rest?

You see, any fix we the players may conceive, regardless of its merit won't work until there's some stamp of approval from Mongoose. The minds behind this wonderful game need to keep working.

Is there anyone out there or are we on life support, fading fast?

Yep - Triggy and others have mentioned that they are working on the official update book (which MS talked about on a few threads)......... :D

where shadow fighters are awesome 8) - probably

There is a new book coming soon, called Powes and Principalities or some such. It will feature a reworked Gaim fleet, FAQ, updated rules... does it sound like Armageddon yet? ;)

Why the different name?

Is it so people can split into playing 2e or the new one as which they prefer?

I think its just a name for the supplement :)

given the speed of replies guess we are all really busy at work

Sounds abit like a catch 22 they can ditch it if it's not popular or people can go it's not an update because the names total different so we will continue to play 2e!

The only work you need to do is keep this forum alive lol.

They need to know are voices can still be heard! That we still exist, if we are truly forgotten then we are beyond help ;) (kind of close to being a quote)

Given that a lot of the issues people have been talking about weren't caught in the playtest of 2nd ed, is there a formal playtest program in place for the development of future books/editions, and if so, how do we participate?

Will the Abbai be updated in the next supplement?

They are not on the cards. That said. . .

One thing I would like to do for P&P is have a 'fleet update' section. This gives us a place where we can, for example, tweak things such as the Shadow Fighter. However, I would like it to be much more than that. I'd like it to be a little treasure trove, where players of any fleet will flick through and think 'wow! I get to do x, y, and z!'

For examle,we currently have rules in their for Shadow vessels to 'merge', as seen in season 2, allowing badly damaged vessels to be supported by their unwounded peers.

Little things like that.

So when is P&P due out again?

How about the G'Quan? Upping the beam to 6d would make the ship worthwhile.

If the G'Quan was to get anything, it should get a Damage/Crew boost to reflect Narn ships being tougher than those of other races. Its firepower is already decent but with the others getting tougher ships this is one example that no longer quite "stands out".

I'd agree with a 6AD beam on the G'Quan and its varients - make them worth taking /fighting.

The boresight/lumbering and s/r range secondary weapons make them nice prey for Centauri

I want to know whaich Narn genius decided to use light ion cannons.

"Sir, the captured Centauri ships have ion cannons."
"Well take them out and use ones with shorter range and less damage potential."
"Sir..."
"Do as I say."

Narn = Inferior :D

Guess they could not reproduce the proper guns and managed to reverse engineer the light Ion cannons :?:
