Im new. Now that thats out of the way...
I have been interested in SST for a while now(Year and a half to be exact) but could never get into it due to other wargame projects going on even now. But with the upcoming release of SST:Evo and the prepainted minis Ill finally get to start. So, Im probably gonna do arachnids, but I want to know a little more about the forth as Im unfamiliar with this new army. Ive tried finding pictures but on any post thats over 15 days old pictures wont show. So, can anyone provide me with pictures? Yeah, there really was only one question. Sorry.

the forth id a brand spanking new force, thats why not much in the way of pics ;) ive seen them and have photos on my phone that got stolen last weekend :( but il have alook arounf my hard drive whan i get chance for you unless soem one gets some pics up.

i presume youve seen the pics in the last issue of S&P downlaod where they have the stats.

well, the fourth really look manga/robotech like (think Robotech Invids). Really nice looking preview pics.

those fourth look amazing, i really love robotech so their biomech look is really appealing

is the fourth range going to be entirley pre-painted, i think that would be a mighty shame.

ALL the ranges are going to be entriely prepainted, but with the forth imo it's the least problem, since the painting scheme is really nice, and it's not like they won't fit the earlier models

Don't think of it as pre-painted, think of it as pre-assembled and pre-primed :). The theory is that unpainted versions will be available, but I don't know how Mongoose is planning on implementing that. I haven't seen it available for BF:E yet, for example, although I don't know if it was ever proposed for that game.

ah thats good if you can simple apply your own paint scheme that would be ok, i just personnaly really like converting and posing my minis

i just said i prefear the converting and the modelling process too painting so the fact that SST:Evo stuff will be pre-primed is time saving , but always drag my feet at painting

also i think the whole point of painting armies is to add your character into your models (as is modelling them)

..although BF:evo looks fun and semi good models, their poses look a bit lame and id rather have them unpainted so u could truly personalise your units

i know i said i dont enjoy the slog of painting but i dont argue that it ultimately is very rewarding

anyway thats my look on it, at the end of the day i've started SST because i love the films and want some models to roleplay with, if i get SST:Evo models i prob just paint over them not convert them i just thinks its a SHAME all MI SST:Evo armies will look like static identical dolls

Hi Grimlock - welcome to the forums! Looks like we're based kinda close to one another (at least closer than the UK!). Maybe you and I can catch up with Hiromoon at his neck of the woods - he's between us geographically.

Are you looking to jump in with the prepainteds because you don't want to paint (for any reason - no guilt trip intended here ... I find myself scheduling paint sessions! :D ) ? If that's not the case, or if you want some bugs for hideous conversion experiments (or MI to convert or literally cut into bug bait) and wouldn't be able to bring yourself to deform ready-to-play models to satisfy this want/need, you might want to consider picking up one or more of the current sets of plastics to satiate this want/need (if only temporarily). Mongoose just reduced selected plastic kits by 25%, and on eBay the V1 starter game has been sold for as low as $40.00 including shipping, as I recall - pretty good for 16 MI and 20 Warriors (plus some emplacements and nostalgic things like tunnelling counters and blast templates). If for nothing else, that's a whole lot of equipment to add to the painted models and body parts to liberally sprinkle around the terrain. :)

And if you happen to be in Canada...

Im gettin into the prepainted because Im busy painting and conversion projects for my Warhammer, 40k, warmachine, and hordes armies. Those four take up so much of my time a prepainted non collectible game appeals to me. The reason I never got into it before was I simply had too much to finish up already. I dont think Ill be able to get up with you for games or anything. I dont travel much because frankly, I hate driving. Makes me fall asleep. Thanks for welcoming me in your community here on Mongoose Publishing.
