Idea for Matt

Mongoose
What Matt might find interesting is the idea of something like the Pirates of Drinax series for Traveller but for Legend. A series of adventure mods put out on a monthly or bi-monthly basis in a particular MGP/Legend specific setting. These could be a useful source of revenue and provide the drip feed of material that would keep Legend in the RPG public's eye. A known author to start developing the setting would be great, but individual mods could easily be a way in for yet unpublished authors.

A keen editorial eye and a line developer to maintain continuity for the setting would be required but based on the rate of release need not be anywhere near a full-time position.

In fact it doesn't actually need any Mongoose participation as with the OGL anyone could use the material released by MGP for Legend in a publication and mark it as Legend Compatible.

This is indeed the point :)

All this work on SGB makes me want to write my own worlds in Legend. I have a few interesting settings I've used as novels, short stories, comics and the like. I also have a S&S setting which I have been poking at.

I also know a kick-ass artist/cartographer ;) Matt knows who I mean.

More adventures the better. Especially if those adventures are written in a manner that it's easy to convert them to different Legend settings, like some of the MRQII adventures were in the Signs & Portents.

What setting will be used?

I mean as generic as possible but for a series like that suggested requires a setting for it to work even if introduced in the first adventure and then developed making it not so generic if some of the ideas clash with what some Legend GMs may want to use... there I go being negative again!

Now what was that movie again with Donald Sutherland and that GI raid on a bank that was thought to be a push by the allies?

Ooh... a bank raid during a war involving a group of soldiers' in a Legend game... hmm anyone else would like to post suggestions? :D

The Traveller adventures have a pre-generated setting in common; the Third Imperium setting and specifically the Spinward Marches and Trojan Reach.

In order to create something similar for Legend, the author would have to create a consistent setting which would serve as the backdrop to a similar kind of epic adventure; one where the characters are given plenty of off-the-path sandbox adventure locations such as subterranean cave complexes, dungeons, abandoned cult temples, fiendish mazes and crowded, filthy towns and villages stuffed to the gills with potential allies, contacts, friends, bed partners, people to woo and seduce, enemies to fight and kill, rivals to destroy and monstrous threats to crush.

Give me a commission, and I'll give you something.

Oddly enough I have a couple of pre-created worlds (I tend to write world bibles for my short stories and novels) - I could use Legend for...but first I'll get the conversion work I'm doing across the board out of the way :)

I already have two settings for legend written up, and a third in the making. If there is interest out there for settings and adventures attached to them ( and i guess there is judging from this thread), then i would, at the very least, be happy to put up or link to the first part of one of them, or even all of them if time allowed.
So, do you wish to see my take on some settings for legend? No commission needed, i am a unknown after all :D .

I think everyone wants new settings, if only as sources for inspiration.

The OGL means that these can be produced commission-free, as long as the setting is homebrewed. Adaptations probably need licences.

Printing is relatively easy, using something like Lulu. To make it available as a free supplement then put it in a PDF and place it online somewhere.
