HG ammo prices

Banded Mongoose
I'm enjoying my read of High Guard. I love the addition of railguns and torpedoes but I'm missing something. Can someone point me to the ammunition cost of these munitions? I've probably read right by it but I don't seem to be able to find the prices.

Thanks!

Based on the summary in Step 8 of the capital ship design example, a single torpedo costs MCr 2.5 and takes up 2.5 tons. Pricey but if one of them hits and cripples a capital ship, the cost is well worth it.

Re: railguns, from the Railgun Barbette's description, a single railgun shot takes up 0.2 ton but no pricing is listed. To further confuse the issue, the description of the Turret drone shows a single shot for a railgun barbette takes up 0.05 ton, again with no pricing.

Sorry for the late reply. My youngest is having some health issues.

I didn't notice the summary info for torps until you pointed it out. The numbers seem off, though. The missiles ended up costing more than twenty times their main book value. Maybe those are one of the new missile types but 22 times the standard seems a bit much (since they're sold in lots of 12).

I'm tending towards a cost of 50KCr for basics. That puts them at a much higher premium per point of damage but it's expensive enough to represent their relative value for the amount of armor they can penetrate. 2.5MCr seems too many orders of magnitude more expensive for more punch. Personally, I'm hoping for a player's guide of sorts for HG so I don't need to house rule these costs.

That is an error from what I can tell, those numbers in the cost column are the tons that those missiles would require for storage.

Ok Mongoose! Whats up, no ammo costs for specialty missiles, Rail Gun ammo or Torpedoes? What was in the play test docs? Come on give us a bone, please. We definitely need an errata thread or downloads!!!

Please, Please get to it. Snap, Snap, in a friendly sort of way, before the masses turn ugly. :p

And remember it's being designed this way using a as-yet-unpublished design sequence/system.

If Mongoose were clever, they would develop and properly beta test a starship/vehicle/equipment design system (a la FF&S), but keep it in-house, and then use it to generate a host of starships/vehicles/equipment (a la Fighting Ships or 101 Vehicles or Central Supply Catalogue), and then release supplements containing those pre-designed vehicles/equipment first.
(SNIP)
Result=consistency across product line. Starships, vehicles, guns, etc that match the design sequences (rather than tons of errata or handwaving to make stuff 'thought up' in early products match the eventual design sequences).

Umm, that is exactly what we are doing :)
