Help with POWER ATTACK

Friends, I need a clarification so one of my players will be put at ease. For POWER ATTACK, it says you use your highest base attack bonus- you are SUPPOSED to use your BAB, NOT your highest bonus, which includes your strength modifier, correct?

The player in question, because of his level, has a BAB of +7/+2. With his strength, his attack bonus is a +11/+6. In order to determine his to hit with POWER ATTACK, he factors in the +7, not the +11, correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

Correct. Base Attack Bonus is listed on the class progression tables and is just that. Total attack bonus includes abilities, feats and any other aplicable modifiers.

Also related- if you crit while using POWER ATTACK, is that extra damage multiplied as well (depending on what weapon you are using)?
