Help with determining ship stats

It's easy enough to figure out the main armament, speed, armour, crew & damage.

But how to determine the amount of attacks for secondary weapons & AA? I have pored over ship data comparing them to the VaS stats and can't figure out how it's done. :?

I'm assuming you are talking WW2? There was no rigorous system for secondary armament, instead the TLAR principle was used, at least initially (TLAR = That Looks About Right). The best way to develop new stats is to look for a ship with similar characteristics and base on them.

There have been a large number of additional ships statted up. Which ones are you interested in? They may have been done already.

Yes, I was talking about WWII. Obviously the secondary armamaments have been simplified somewhat as they can fire all round; I assume this is why they have less attacks than the number of turrets in a ship would indicate. I also assume the TLAR method was used for AA as well?

I was going to make stats for Finnish fleet just for fun and see if I could figure out something useful. If that worked out I might then try my hand in doing a scenario or two. BTW, I found the Swedish fleet list in your website very useful.

Of course, with the Z-plan ships around I have been having some preliminary thoughts about even more unrealistic "Laivasto 1946" (=Navy 1946) scenario but perhaps I won't say more about that so the hardcore historians won't despair.
