Hello from San Diego!

Mongoose
Hello from San Diego. I am very interested in B5: ACTA ( I own the box set and the counters, but I have very little desire to buy any minis for it) and Victory at Sea. My main interest in Victory at Sea however is to modify it for the pre-dred era and VSF aeronefs. Is anyone else out there interested in this time period?

I live in San Diego and am one of the playtesters for both VaS and B5: ACTA. I'm sending you a PM, always looking for players.

Sounds like a pre-dreadnought/dreadnought era version of the rules is under consideration by the Mongoose folks from comments they've made elsewhere, as well as playing around a little with Napoleonics. But who knows when either of those projects will materialize.

A few of us have been looking at WW1 (I have a workable version here, but its far from official). Pre-dreadnought is a simple step from that. Nappies is feasible too, as is moderns, but IMHO, in both cases the features of the periods (e.g. ranges involved in modern may require subtle (or not-so-subtle) changes to the system to capture the "feel".

Thank you everyone for the responses.

Lowly Uhlan - I pm'ed you back.

Pre-dreds would be a short hop from WWI and it would be very interesting to work out the firing arcs of some of those ships! Also, some of those battles have such interesting character to them. I think the Battle of Lissa would be a blast (RAMMING SPEED!)

The Lissa campaign is a fun one to try. I've got the relevant fleets in 1/2400 (the old hallmark models) but a friend in York scratch built the ships in 1/1200 - looked most impressive!
