Has anybody seen any Duck?

Has anybody actually seen Ducks yet?
My copy is supposed to arrive this week and I wonder if anyone out there had an opinion on it, from having seen it.

I picked up a copy yesterday from Orc's Nest in London.
Only had a chance for a quick flick through so far - initial impressions? I like it.
One thing I quickly gleaned from a skim through was a sense of what it means to be a duck, which I suspect was a major purpose of the book - not the stats and mechanics, but the feel. As to how the stats etc. work - no idea yet!

I am so happy that you "got it" on the first run through. I wanted to add a bunch of neat stuff to their rules and stuff too, but first and foremost I wanted to make a book that helps people see why the ducks are the way they are...not just make fun of their state. :)

Thank you.

Thanks for the preview,
I have got mine now and also am impressed with the quality of the writing (no- I'm not grovelling, I really am impressed). As the Duck will feature prominently in my campaign, (thanks also to Sceaptune Games), the breadth of background available has turned the race from a joke to a living, breathing, and occasionally extremely dangerous, species. I love the Ivory Mallards, just waitng for the PC's first encounter with one of them!

edit : I am less impressed with the artwork, lots of the illustrations look like humans with Duck Heads: not even any sign of 'feathery' skin on arms and legs.

The Ducks are really the only thing I played back in the day, and I've been holding off till I got a Duck Supplement for the new RQ.

Art while nice, is not a necessity for me, being an old fart and used to the Clip Art days.

Now, I got it, and it is good. Broo fanboys beware.

I received it today. It looks really great. Of course I couldn't read it yet, but the chapter on myths looks more than interesting. And now in Glorantha it is hard to play an adventure and/or campaign without some myth being involved.

One point though: the other race books are 128 pages long and this one has only 120. Is it Charly who edited out the last 8 pages of recipes for herself?

Nope...I pulled the recipe pages because the tone of the book was a serious one, and recipes just were a little bit too slappy for my final product's tastes (pun intended). I am planning on eventually doing a 12 Famous Duck Recipes Signs and Portents article at some point...you know, when I have time.
