Banded Mongoose
Dear Friends,
As I am an advocate of using video games as solo gaming tools, I'm also looking at certain games as source material for settings in addition to appropriating their respective AIs. Gratuitous Tank Battles offers a fascinating premise - WWI didn't end, and going forward a couple centuries. Gratuitous Space Battles is a generic platform, but does also have its interesting native empires. So, I'm considering now establishing a solo campaign framework using the two games. More or less what I am also looking at is adapting either the classic GDW Games Imperium or Invasion Earth as the strategic setting, with adapting the WWI forever premise for the Solomani as far as the look and feel of their tanks and mecha are concerned - with a healthy dose of Downton Abbey ! Ergo, I am looking at establishing the East Yorkshire Regiment as a key armored unit in the campaign, with the future Earl of Grantham leading the charge !
If I can find live players great, if not, never mind.
As the Dowager Countess would say "What is a Weekend ?"
Cheers,
Gary
