deniper

Mongoose
and am gonna try for anouther tonight.
first please forgive my sp and caps tonight i dont have much time to sort it all out.

went up to my lgs and sat about for an min an aquaintance asked what i was up to and i responded asking if he wanted to try the game.

he took the eftf and i played the usmc. army composition was 2 mbts and 2 squads each. there was woods provideing cover and obsticals to perfect los

impressions the eftf is tough and the diffences between the armor is massive but his infantry were given an hard time my my armor.

i had an great time loseing and he enjoyed the game greatly and will be buying in. what i liked most was with out him reading the rules we where able to play an game after only an basic "heres how it works"

great fun.

Sounds like a good time. By using 2 tanks with 2 squads of infantry, you propably tilted it towards an armour battle with the ifnantry for support.

Try something like 3 squads and one tank next time, and Im betting it'll play like a completely different game.

Or all tanks ! :)

Or better, try infantry and IFVs/transports.

This way you don't have the massive armor and killing power of the tank, but you still have a nice with of mobility and firepower with the IFV and transports, yet the transports are much more vulnerable than the tanks.

So 2-3 infantry squads and either some Shadows for the USMC, the IFV for the PLA, technicals for the MEA, and the warrior for the EFTF.

I think you'll find the primarily infantry battle nice, along with the addition of fast moving or hard hitting transports to make the battle more dynamic.

In fact, this saturday a friend and I are going to play just that sort of game. I'm playing an MEA army with technicals and a fedayeen squad, he'll probably be either USMC or EFTF.

The ideal set up for this scale of game would propably be something like a platoon of troops, with 1-2 light vehicles (recon or IFV types) in support. Recon units make for very fun skirmish gaming. (yes, I know EVO isnt technically a skirmish game, but its on the same scale)

Second game same night.

Same Army composition as above and we clarifyed that the terrain obsticals blocked LOS unless an unit was with in it's size score of the edge..(area terrain).
Things went poorly for the USMC again but, better this time because I did not break the fireteams down, and so they where harder to supress.

I feel strongly after these games that putting to field with shadows is pretty much nessary if there is any armor on the opposite side. also the boost to mobility will be nice.

me being me (tread head) would like to do an all armor game but the scenario would have to have some very specific goals for it to be playable. I think.

One advantage you have is that the shadows are very cheap compared to other transports, and the range on their AT missiles is long.

The USMC have no AT infantry right now, so you'll rely on shadows.

They're in the, "Have rules, no stats." topic. Hiromoon made custom cards from an older playtest version and posted them online. He's got everything from wave 1 and 2 statted, but they're older stats and aren't indicative of the final release. But, they're great at showing what the final game is like.

I've played about 3 games with these stats and the basic rules and it's very fun to play. Not to mention faster than other games. The last battle I had was a big 1000 point game with a tank on both sides and plenty of infantry running around. The EFTF tank dominated the game, especially with the command section's extra action.

:P
And I'm willing to make cards for the Mods too.
