I have yet to find rules for getting lost in jungles/forests whatever. I'm assuming a Survival check and then maybe rolling a d8 to determine the actual direction the party is heading. Anybody have any ideas?
That sounds simple enough. Jungle/forests with a canopy dense enough to block view of the sky will very quickly become disorientating without something to give a true bearing, such as a compass.

Also, if anyone has suggestions how to handle the effects of weather conditions on combat skills, I'd love to hear them (firing a bow in a bow in a rain storm, that kind of thing).
Thanks.
Historically, bow strings were always useless when they became wet.
Melee-wise there are a number of weather based aspects which affect combat. A simple thing like wet ground, packed snow or ice can be deadly, since it becomes treacherously slippery when wearing leather soled boots. (Shoe technology has come a long way in the last century!)
From personal experience if you are not wearing a full helmet, heavy rain, blowing snow, or hail stones can also affect your vision.
Last but not least, temperature is probably the biggest problem. Fighting is an intense anaerobic activity which generates a lot of heat. There are historical examples of heavily armoured warriors either shedding their protection due to the fatigue it causes, or even dying of heat exhaustion. Ever noticed that cultures nearer the equator wear less and less protection?
So what it comes down to is... How does the weather affect traction, visibility and temperature?
