When i played ACTA b5 the initiative was a huge problem, not to mention if you bought more lower priority ships you had more hit points and attack dice. I'm curious if they did away with the priority system and went with a combat value of some sort?
I"m just hoping i'll be able to find people in the Portland Oregon area that will play Noble armada, i didn't think second edition was perfect but it was an enjoyable game to play that was easy to teach. I do kind of like the new crit system as far as damage being toned down but dependent on the difference in life of a smaller ship to the larger ship its ability to take more crits may or may not help. As an example if you have a 10 hit point ship thats taken a few crits that reduce combat ability compared to say a 30 hit point ship with the same crits your losing out on alot more and while yes the ship can survive it's functionality is down quite a bit and the other player will have 1 ship in similar shape crit wise and possibly 2 other untouched vessels.....dependent on points values and such.
I'm very hopeful that ACTA noble armada is going to kick butt.....very hopeful
