I think we are using PHBB software for this forum and thought the Mongoose guys might want to see this. I have no idea if this site could be affected, but I figured it couldn't hurt to let you guys know

This will be informal so please read on, it's not edited and I have not checked for spelling. I just want to get the word out as soon as possible to all the other gaming sites this may or have the possibility to effect! READ ON!
If some of you have gone to the White Silver
Publishing website you can see it's not there anymore. The reason being is that our server was severly hacked by a VERY skilled hacker. From what I can tell, it has effected many other companies as well.
The news for all other gaming companies is that if you are using the PHBB forum software your company is at serious risk! This is how our hacker got access to the main server that our site and many other sites where housed.
The hacker got total access to the server and locked 'EVERYONE' out of the machine, and I mean everyone. They had to totally nuke the machine and buy a new one.
Fortunately for us our online store is housed on a completely different server which was not comprimised during the hacking. So no worries there.
What I also learned is that once the server is hacked it links with other infected machines and forms what Europe is calling the 'The Zombie PC Legion' yeah, crazy stuff I know.
So, in closing we are hard at work trying to get our site back up and running as quickly as we can with our new server. We do have a special Halloween free download module for the Chronicles of Ramlar that will hopefully be available on the 21st of this month, if we get the site up and running by then.
I just wanted to let anyone and everyone know about how the hacker got in and to keep a close eye on your forums if you and your company are using the software mentioned above.
