Flying Bases.

Anyone know where the star fleet flying bases are on the site?
I want to order some but the 'Flying Bases - Small x 5' (http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/flying-bases-small-x-5.html) don't look right.
I don't see a large one though, anyone?..

Mongoose used to sell the large ones, but I do only see the small ones for sale now. The small ones are probably leftovers from before the base style changeover. Ie, they probably have the ball and socket mount.

I've got extra bases, but I've been hoarding them for their ball and socket attachments. The bases and stems I can spare if someone wants them, but I am keeping the ball and sockets. I refuse to fool around with permanently mounted bases.

When I run out of ball and sockets I'll have to spend more money on some other mounting arrangement. Bleh.

Bill I don't use the ball and sockets - so I'd be happy to take a few from you - but the US is a long way to post just a tiny bit of plastic.

Is there anyone UK based who has five of these?

Well I have been in contact with someone in the UK who had extra ball and sockets, but it didn't make sense to mail what, 8 sets? But if you somehow, miraculously, find yourself with a few ball and sockets to spare after obtaining bases from someone, might it be feasible to send your surplus ball and sockets to that person, who then can send them to me? I'd pay for postage for all parties involved if it were cost-effective to do it at all. :)

13 sets isn't much better than 8, but it still helps me out. :)

At the risk of annoying people for promoting a rival company, Games Workshop sell flying bases, both large and small. And you get free delivery for orders over £10, e.g. a few packs of bases.

Disclaimer: I have no relationship with GW other than having bought some flying bases from them. :)

Well, hmm.... I have a GW store about 1/2 hr away from me that I've bought paints from occasionally. Have to keep that in mind next time I'm in the area.

***edit **

I looked at GW's website, and saw the bases in question. They indeed had some that had the ball on them. There was no mention of there being a socket though. Is there one?

I don't know where the socket is, not having bought any GW vehicles. The ones I bought have the plain stems - I have some spare Mongoose ball and socket sets plus lots of spare Mongoose stems (since each stand includes a short and long stem), so all I was really after was the bases themselves. Besides, the OP isn't interested in balls and sockets. ;) Note that GW's large bases are larger diameter than Mongoose's.
