Fleet transport?

Ok looks like a simple question this time!
How do you transport your Fleets?
Any good ideas? or case suggestions?

I use the Games workshop army cases, this is coz I use fleet action scale mini's and they fit nice and snug into them.

I use the boxes that hard drives come in, complete with their packing foam. They do a reasonable job.

I'm still on the lookout for a more protective case though, most of the commercial ones seem to only care about volume.. "carries 3,000,000 figures!"... I don't want that, I just want a 5-pt Raid fleet to be properly protected. Coming back from Gaelcon, 3 of my ships lost their base mounting rod.

I transport my entire brakiri fleet in one flat fleet box, apart from the brokados which i haven't built. Other than that, My Narn are in a drill case, but the crap plastic stems break a LOT.
My drakh got transpoted to ID gaming montsh ago, and live in store, i should probably bring them home!!

Use old cardstock boxes, for that i used some rubber foam with
size of the interior of the box. I then cut out custom spaces for the
ships, so every one fits smugly into it.

I have a box for my Centauri fleet. And for my Vree, Brakiri and
Minbari fleet in fleet action scale.

My BW-Scale minbari are in a GW Case, cause i have a spare one
and they fit perfectly in when you turn one of the foam inlays upside
down.

i use the "Feldherr" transportcase with 3 30mm inlays

i base my ships so that they fit in. so they are not standing high -> lower balance point -> less falling over. also i use steel nails for the steam.

the inlays are all perforated so i can cut out shapes to fit my ships.

i use one inlay for my BFG FW Tau fleet. one for either BFG Imperial or Chaos Fleet and one for my Shadow Fleet alle 3 still have unused space that i can use for new ships. pretty nice and easy to handel.

you can also buy inlays with 25mm (3 fit into one transportcase) 60mm (2 fitinto one transportcase) or 100mm (1 fit into one transportcase heigth

i bougth mine from http://www.battlefield-berlin.de

hm darn i need to get a new one for my vorlons....

The thing is I can't decide between all of this cases!
There is the Feldherrenkoffer, the Battle Hive and so on. A friend of mine is using the Battle Hive and is very pleased with it.
Mmh i think I have to wait till I have my Fleets and then decide then how to carry them around!
Perhaps I'm buying a Toolcase, from the "Bauhaus" and try to fit them in it.
Drakh need why to many Space hehe!

i use foam trays that can be cut to sit almost anything, for most of my ships, but my victory doesn't fit in the sizes i have so i'm working on a solution for it.

i use Sabol carry cases altho only seen them in the US and its expensive to import them.

This case is also available at battlefield berlin :)
Mmh i will wait till i know how fagile the drakh Raiders are hehe!

I too use hard drive/optical drive boxes and they work very well but it would be nice to find something a little better at stopping them jiggling about and scratching each other/snapping off flying bases etc.

I just use tupperware and/or cardboard boxes, complete with random packing material (wadded tissue paper, bubblewrap, that sort of thing). No real problems so far, though I may invest in something a bit more solid, with proper foam inserts.

I've got so many different armies now (40k, WHFB, ACTA, ST, Full Thrust) that my initial GW case isn't enough (it isnt even enough for all my eldar once you factor in tanks). And I can't be bothered to fork out 50 quid to get a box for each.

Basic flat chests with foam inlays for most standard vessels that can be stored sideways like the Hyperion, and a metal plate on `wide models` like a shadow omega, parked in a case with a magnetic foil in the bottom

Depending on how many minis I'm, bringing, I either use the second-smallest GW case (doubles up for transporting SST, Warmachine/Hordes or my small Battletech armies), or one of a variety of tupperware and cardboard boxes I've amassed with a ton of packing foam in them to keep the minis in place. I don't glue the stands into my minis go I can just break them down and stick them in a plastic bag
