fleet question

How do the Dilgar and EA early years hold up when fighting fleets from 40-50 years later?

I was looking at the lists and as some are from diff times just wondering if that is a issue?

Does anyone play games with that fluff in mind? Like you play games from 2227, 2246 or what ever? I would guess that the dates are there just for the fluff side but thought I would ask to be sure
