Fading Suns to Traveller

Ok, i know MGP is going to produce a fading suns book for traveller at soem point, but i was wondering if any one has done one of there own yet.?

I'd be interested in this too. After the Campaign Guidebook, a Fading Suns version of Traveller is top of my want list.

Afaik, there are no plans for a traveller fading suns book. There is a new version of Fading Suns being worked on, but its not Traveller I think. There's more info in the ACTA:NA threads I believe.

Well, maybe not exactly "no plans." This is a response I got back from James Sutton of Red Brick on the rpg.net forums back in April. Obviously they're focusing on 3rd Edition at the moment but I've got my fingers crossed. :D

A quick answer to the question of a Traveller Edition for Fading Suns is "probably" -- though it won't be a core product line. The core product line, as with all of our games, Earthdawn being a prime example, is based around the central and original mechanics. However, we recognize that the market has evolved, and we would like to have gamers playing in our worlds using their preferred game systems, where we can.

Oho - Insider knowledge, huh? I'm very happy to be corrected in this - I think Traveller would be a good fit and I'd probably get it! :D

It's such a natural fit. Traveller's straightforward and flexible system that can be molded into all kinds of shapes and Fading Sun's convoluted but equally flexible milieu that can be used to run just about any kind of campaign from just about any setting ranging from space opera to fantasy to horror or intrigue. There an 'in' for whatever you can think of. Just mining Fading Suns for stuff to borrow in Traveller (alien races and the detailed political and religious factions spring immediately to mind) would be awesome alone. I might even focus more on the Guilds rather than the Nobles and Priests in a Traveller Fading Suns. Build around the Traveller trading focus rather than the typical noble entourage for a true hybrid of concepts.
