I just saw John Carpenter's Escape From New York last night and was reminded what a great movie it was.
I also think it would make a great RP - imagine it. An alternate earth with the US at war with the USSR, the US has collapsed internally, crime is rampant and so forth, both Mexico and Canada have closed their borders to the US adn the US is a neo-fascist state.
I think it has possibilities.
