OK. I have the revised Call to Arms rulebook, ASFOS, The Earth/Minbari War supplement and the Dilgar supplement.
A friend and I played teeny scenario with the EA going against the Dilgar (5 Patrol priority points apiece). But I ran into a snag. Are there ANY fighters I can use for the EA circa 2230?
I ended up fielding a Hyperion Cruiser (missile variant) and Artemis Heavy Frigate (stock vanilla version) and a flight of starfuries against two Ochlavita DDs and some Thoruns.
The Hyperion was OK at range, but really got its A-- handed to it once the Dilgar were able to close. I'm sorry, but I love the images that come with the critical hits (the Dilgar lost bridge personnel, the Hyperion had fires raging on its decks, etc)...
The only help I had once the close in fighting started came from my fighters, as good roles, even with the Dilgar support rule, let me win my dogfights bloodlessly. I tried to manuever the Hyperion as best as I could (firing the F arc missiles at range, advancing as slowly as I could & then "coming about" to present my starboard arc). But those Dilgar destroyers seem nasty at slashing runs.
BTW, pretty new to this game, so if my fleet selection seems weak, that's a big reason.
