Drakh Plague Cure?

Where can I find info about the Drakh Plague cure?

I just finished up the Crusade series (again) and would like some sort of closure. Any good online sites or anything resovling that crisis?

It is clear from both Legend of the Rangers and Lost Tales that a cure was found in time to halt the plague. None of these stories, however, mention what the cue was or how it was discovered. You could just make up those details yourself for your campaign. Personally, I never let canon get in the way of a good scenario. So, that's the path I would take.

I was looking for specifics.

I found some info on the B5 Timeline page.

Sometime before this, the Drakh Plague is cured by the crew of the Excalibur (N-Final Reckoning, N-Legions of Fire).

I don't beleive there is anything specific about how the plague was cured. It was always the intent that was cured relatively early in Crusade (season 2 IIRC).

Oh what I would give for someone to give us the resolution to Crusade. Sure, we know the Excalibur succeeded, but we know this from the first episode of the show. I want a book, a movie, or a comic book that at least finishes it off, or better yet, continues it.

I always thought they could go back to Crusade, and do a a TV movie where they did actually find the cure. It's a pity that what's followed since has been rather poor. Legend of the Rangers, to me, didn't really feel like Babylon 5. The Lost Tales was very weak, and could have been a much better narrative if they actually had interwoven the two stories together. Plus, the station itself felt rather empty, because they cut back on the money, so didn't higher that many extras.

I hate to correct you, but as someone who's actually seen a script for the final episode, The End of the Line, there is no mention of the cure being found in it. It is true, however, that the entire series of Crusade wouldn't be devoted to finding the cure, which would be found sometime during season two, but would reveal a conspiracy in Earth Force to develop Shadow technology. The idea in season two is, no one would believe the crew of the Excalibur that something bad was happening back home, and eventually, they would have to pull a Sheridan and take on their own people. What's more, we would have also discovered that Techno-Mage technology is based on Shadow technology. This would lead to Gideon distrusting Galen, who is clear from later scripts to have a secret agenda.

What is more annoying is the fact Bester was due to return in Crusade, but never got a chance to, as the series was canceled before his episode was filmed.

If I recall the quote on Crusade, he said he was planning on them finding the cure somewhere "early" in season 2. My guess would be sweeps week, but that's just me. So the scripts for season 1 still hold up and the plan for the cure to come early also works out. But I might be remembering incorrectly, of course.

Jms said what his plans were in the bonus bits on the Crusade dvd, but if you have the script who am I to argue?

I don't recall him ever saying that, but the scripts and his notes were made available on the internet a while back. I will have to re-watch the bonus footage again.

You would be correct on that assumption. The idea was, the final episode of season one reveals a conspiracy within EarthForce to turn Shadow technology into weapons. The crew discover that they are being used primarily to hunt down alien technology, so a fundamentalist arm of the government can turn them into weapons. The hunt for a cure is merely a cover for the mission. The cure would be found early on in season two, as you've just said, but later it to would be revealed that the conspirators already knew about the cure, and planned to use the Excalibur crew for their own ends. Gideon discovers the truth, and has to find a way of putting an end to the conspiracy.

It's a dam pity that the show got canceled. It was warming up to be something rather spectacular.
